McLaren GT Verdant Theme by MSO

Actually, the Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) should have started tomorrow, on March 3. However, due to the increasing incidence of the corona virus worldwide, the Swiss government imposed a ban on events with more than 1,000 participants, which includes the traditional motor show. As an alternative, many manufacturers are now choosing to publish their new products online, which would otherwise have been on display in the Palexpo halls.

Among the brands mentioned is McLaren, which will be presenting the continuation of its own longtail history tomorrow. A McLaren GT, which has been internally refined by MSO, is already showing where the individualisation journey can take us if the customer’s wallet is big enough. From the outside, the vehicle is available in a three-color silk-matt paint with the colors ‘Horsell Green’, ‘Arbor’ and ‘Steppe Green’, which have been painted progressively from front to back from light to dark. This process took around 430 hours of work, making it the most complex MSO paint job to date. Along the front spoiler lip and side skirts is a hand-applied pinstripe in ‘Napier Green’. The brake calipers are also in the same color. Appropriately, the car was given the nickname ‘Verdant Theme’.

Inside, the MSO GT features grey cashmere seat covers with green piping. The particularly soft fabric, which has never been used in any other automotive application, is also found on the door panels, the center tunnel, the lower part of the dashboard and the sun visors. To use cashmere fabric in the GT, McLaren worked closely with the supplier for 18 months. However, limited availability ensures that it remains an exclusive MSO option. The Verdant Theme also features leather accents in dark green, ‘Laurel Green’ and black.

The 620 hp V8 biturbo engine, which is installed behind the passengers and in front of the rear axle, wasn’t changed by the British for this unique vehicle. It accelerates the sports car and its crew from a standing start to 62 mph in 3.2 seconds, while the proactive damper system ensures an incredibly high level of comfort.
