Ferrari SP3JC
At Ferrari there is now a three-stage customer system. Above the normal customer, who normally buys his used or new cars from the Ferrari dealer, is the clientele of the VIPs, to whom an order for the limited editions and supercars is suggested. And then there is the league of absolute gems, which, in addition to becoming part of the racetrack-bound XX Clienti (with FXX, 599XX and FXX K), also have the opportunity to design an independent unique sports car together with the Special Projects department in Maranello.
The newest owner of such a one-off vehicle is John Collins from the UK, who might probably be best-known to classic car fans for his classic trade Talacrest. Based on the F12tdf, a radical two-seater Roadster was created and baptized SP3JC. It was inspired by the great V12 Roadsters from the 1950s and 60s. Only headlights and door handles are left over from the base vehicle. Around them the Ferrari design department created a new bodywork, that fits seamlessly into the muscular design of the V12 models.

Since Collins is a big fan of Pop Art, his unique Ferrari SP3JC received a ‘Bianco Italia’ (white metallic) paint with an ‘Azzurro Met’ (blue metallic) livery at the front including a narrow stripe across the bonnet and accents at the two rollbars in ‘Giallo Modena’ (yellow). The doors and the front show the number 3. As with the F12tdf, the right-rear fender has the eye-catching fuel filler cap, while the bonnet incorporates two long glass inserts to show the V12 engine. Inside there is plenty of blue leather with white inserts on the seats. Also the lower part of the dashboard wears blue leather.
The twelve-cylinder engine is used without modifications and powers the SP3JC with its 780 hp from 6.3 liters of displacement. There are also 705 newtonmeters of torque, which are transmitted to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. For the base vehicle that is enough to accelerate from zero to 62 mph in 2.9 seconds and to 124 mph in 7.9 seconds. This is likely to behave similarly in the radically open SP3JC. Even the topspeed of around 340 kph (211 mph) should match that of the F12tdf. For the price Ferrari made no statements.
