THE REBIRTH – ALFA ROMEO 33 STRADALE
Alfa Romeo proudly unveils the rebirth of a truly legendary sports car: the all-new Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale revives the legacy of the namesake coupe from the 1960s. This four-wheeled work of art, of which only 33 individually crafted examples will exist, embodies the Italian brand’s expertise in design, charm and driving experience. Hand-built, the new Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale cleverly bridges the gap between past history and future vision of the brand.

The realization of that dream required a mix of courage and creativity. On this basis, Alfa Romeo created the 33 Stradale as early as 1967, a road-going two-seater coupé that embodied the technology from the Tipo 33 racing car. The ultra-light aluminum body with gullwing doors and the high-revving eight-cylinder engine merged to create a supercar that today is celebrated as one of the most beautiful coupes of all time due to its iconic design.
The birth of Bottega
With the same vision and creative verve, Alfa Romeo’s design and engineering team has developed the new Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale. The coupe embodies the harmonious symbiosis of elegance and technology. The goal was to offer a relatively small group of enthusiasts, a unique driving experience and to draw them under the spell of an iconic automobile. To make this a reality, Alfa Romeo created an innovative division called Bottega. The approach of this team was to collect the ideas and dreams of potential buyers and transform them into an exclusive automobile. The philosophy of the Bottega department reflects the principles of the famous Italian carrozzerias of the 1960s.
“The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is the first fully customized model since 1969 – and I assure you, it won’t be the last.”
Jean-Philippe Imparato, CEO of Alfa Romeo

Jean-Philippe Imparato, Alfa Romeo’s CEO, sums it up: “The new Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is a tribute to our glorious history and will deeply delight Alfa Romeo’s numerous fan base. Such a masterpiece was only possible thanks to the dedication and expertise of our development team. This team could be sure of the full support of the management, which is determined to shape the future of Alfa Romeo with respect for tradition. The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is the first fully customized model since 1969 – and I assure you it won’t be the last.”
Bellezza necessaria
The designers at Alfa Romeo Centro Stile have taken the basic shape from the legendary sports car and refined it with elements of the brand’s current design language. The body impresses with the balanced interplay of proportions, volume and surface finish. The front of the vehicle radiates power and muscularity. Alfa Romeo’s distinctive radiator grille, the Scudetto, is framed by elliptical headlights. The side view of the new Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale presents dynamic and flowing lines, accentuated by the distinctive gullwing doors and prominent side air intakes. Thanks to the engine placed centrally in the chassis, the cockpit moves forward. The large windows of the gullwing doors and the extended panoramic roof offer occupants a view reminiscent of the cockpit of an aircraft. The rear end with its distinctive tear-off edge and round lights pays homage to the historic Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale.

The impressive aerodynamic efficiency of the body is underlined by a Cw value of 0.375. Even more remarkable is that the new Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale generates no lift at all, even at high speeds – and without the use of active aerodynamic aids such as adjustable spoilers. The result is sleek lines that embody the successful motto of race car design: bellezza necessaria – beauty born of functionality.
The interior impresses with its minimalist design and the use of high-quality materials designed to enhance the driving experience to the maximum. The central instrument is a modern 3D interpretation of the classic telescopic shape of Alfa Romeo’s dashboards. The steering wheel is free of superfluous switches and buttons – a clear statement of focus on the essentials.
The interior offers two choices: the classically elegant TRIBUTO and the sporty, aggressive ALFA CORSE. The dashboard and center tunnel are masterfully crafted from aluminum, carbon fiber, leather and Alcantara. The close-fitting sports seats offer outstanding lateral support and maximum comfort at the same time. Every detail of the cockpit has been carefully designed to create an exclusive atmosphere while preserving the aesthetic and functional heritage of the historic 1967 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale.

Two technologically different drive variants are available for the new Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale. The combustion version is powered by a proven V6 biturbo engine used in other sports models from the brand. Its output has been increased to an impressive 456 kW (620 hp) and it is transmitted exclusively to the rear wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). The all-electric variant, on the other hand, produces 552 kW (equivalent to 750 hp) in the system, which is distributed to all four wheels.
The top speed of both versions is 333 km/h. The new Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in less than three seconds. Thanks to the double wishbone suspension with active dampers and lift function, the vehicle is said to offer excellent handling and comfort both in everyday life and during sporty driving.

The expertise of Formula 1 driver Valtteri Bottas was called upon to tune the suspension of the new Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale. At Alfa Romeo’s legendary test track in Balocco, northern Italy, Bottas’ wealth of experience helped develop a suspension setup that embodies the sporty, dynamic handling for which Alfa Romeo is known.
The future owners of the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale were an integral part of the creative process from the very beginning. The first meetings already took place during the Formula 1 race for the 2022 Italian Grand Prix in Monza. Here, customers had the opportunity to express their individual wishes for their personal Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale. These were then reviewed for feasibility by an internal committee headed by Alfa Romeo CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato. Within a very short time, all 33 vehicles were sold.
