McLaren 720S Track Pack

With the 720S, McLaren has succeeded in creating a fascinating supercar that has already convinced in various driving reports and tests. In order to keep up the interest and also to reach customers, who like to move their vehicle frequently on racetracks, the British sports car maker now offers the optional Track Pack. With the smaller 570S already one in ten buyers order this package with their car. McLaren introduced the 720S with Track Pack as part of the tests with the new 720S GT3 race car in Brno/Czech Republic. The racer is currently undergoing an intensive test program on various racetracks, with many drivers taking the wheel to eliminate as much failures as possible and also to work out a good basic setup.

In case of the road sports car, the optional Track Pack, based on the Performance equipment, ensures a weight loss of 24 kilograms. The 720S Performance already comes with carbon air intakes and exterior mirrors, as well as the engine bay ambient lighting, while the add-on package adds super-lightweight 10-spoke forged alloy wheels, a sports exhaust system and the active rear wing in bare carbon fiber. Inside, there are lightweight carbon fiber racing seats with passages for the enclosed six-point harnesses, extended shift paddles in flat bare carbon, an Alcantara-covered steering wheel with carbon spokes and a titanium rollbar behind the seats. Using the McLaren Track Telemetry (MTT) with three on-board cameras and a data recording system, the driver can analyze his laps using the display inside the car or by exporting the datas to a computer.

In the UK, the Track Pack costs £ 28,360 on top of the £ 224,700 base price for a McLaren 720S Performance. Just for comparison: the racecar 720S GT3 starts at £ 440,000. First copies of both vehicles will roll to customers in early 2019.
