Just in time for summer: McLaren Artura Spider

McLaren is now also offering the Artura as a Spider, officially heralding the arrival of spring. This makes it the first high-performance hybrid convertible from McLaren.

To enhance the performance of the Artura, the improvements developed for the Spider have been directly integrated into the Artura Coupé, which is now being launched as a new model. Both the new Spider and the new Coupé offer outstanding dynamic performance and track capability, but are also designed to meet the demands of normal driving and provide a silent electric drive for urban environments and critical neighborhoods.

The new Artura Spider has been designed with a focus on driveability, performance, agility, refinement, efficiency and quality. The retractable hardtop can be opened electrically in just 11 seconds to offer a full convertible experience.

The new Artura Spider and Artura Coupé models for the 2025 model year can be ordered now, with the first deliveries starting in the middle of the year depending on the region.

Michael Leiters, CEO of McLaren Automotive, emphasizes: “The new Artura offers unrivalled performance and dynamics, without compromising on everyday driving. Both the Coupé and Spider represent the next generation of supercars and offer a wide range of enhancements that will delight drivers.”

McLaren remains true to its super lightweight philosophy to deliver exceptional dynamic characteristics and performance. The new Artura Spider is the lightest convertible in its class, combining performance and handling at the highest level.

The Artura’s hybrid technology has been improved to deliver a total output of 700 hp, with the V6 internal combustion engine delivering 20 hp more than before. The low weight and optimized performance make the Artura Spider a high-performance super sports car.

The advanced carbon fiber monocoque and aluminum components contribute to weight reduction, while the new electrical Ethernet architecture increases data capacity and reduces weight. The Artura’s dynamic handling has been further enhanced by newly developed drivetrain mounts, resulting in increased stability and agility. Braking performance has also been optimized, using carbon-ceramic brake discs and upgraded aluminum brake calipers to ensure improved performance and stability.

The Artura’s eight-speed gearbox has been revised to enable faster gear changes and improved shifting speed. The Artura’s driving dynamics modes offer a wide range of settings to customize the driving experience, while the Pirelli CyberTMTyre system provides improved traction and control. The Artura infotainment system offers a wide range of features, including driver assistance systems and high-quality audio from Bowers & Wilkins.

The Artura Spider is available from £221,500 and offers a range of trim levels to suit individual customer preferences.
