Bugatti Chiron Sky View

Bugatti currently offers nearly everything you can buy for money for their 1,500-horsepower supercar Chiron. Whether special materials for decorative trim in the interior, colored bare carbon for the bodywork or highspeed driver trainings – everything is possible. Really? Well, one thing does not exist in comparison to the predecessor model Veyron: the possibility to open the roof. If there ever will be a successor to the open-top Veyron Grand Sport can’t be said for sure at the moment. But there now is a new optional equipment detail called ‘Sky View’, which debuts during the Monterey Car Week in USA.

‘Sky View’ is a two-piece glass roof, located above the heads of driver and co-driver. They are fixed and can’t be removed. In order to ensure the highest possible climate comfort and a good noise insulation, it is made from a newly developed sandwich glass made of thin glass with four intermediate layers. Each layer fulfills a special purpose like the reflection of infrared rays, dampening of wind noises, avoiding of glares through a special tint as well as filtering UVA and UVB rays out of the sunlight. The cutouts are each 65 centimeters long and 44 centimeters wide. Compared to the normal Chiron roof there are 2.7 centimeters more headroom.
