Czinger 21C

A special feature for the upcoming Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) comes from Los Angeles/California and bears an unusual name – especially by American standards: Czinger. This small manufactory promises an extraordinary sports car in the shape of their 21C. Design and development took place in California, where the production will also take place. The contemporary hybrid drivetrain was also developed in-house. The result is a 1,250 hp concept with a 2.88-liter V8 biturbo engine and two electric engines at the front wheels, that powers a two-seater carbon sports car in which the occupants sit one behind the other. According to initial data, acceleration from a standing start to 62 mph should be possible in just 1.9 seconds. The street version reaches a topspeed of 432 kph (268 mph), while the more track-focussed lightweight version with bigger wings and significantly more downforce reaches 380 kph (236 mph).

For the first time, the carbon monocoque is being built using an additive manufacturing process. On top of this sits a narrowly designed carbon bodywork, which for the presentation vehicle was executed in visible carbon. Czinger paid great attention to the best possible aerodynamics with lots of downforce at high speed. For this purpose, a wide rear wing is used, on the end plates of which the model name 21C can be read. Only 80 units will be built, divided into the normal street version and the 32 kilograms lighter track version. Further information about this new supercar will only be available in the coming weeks and at the world premiere in Geneva on 3 March.
