Bentley Continental GT Mulliner Convertible
Vehicles from Bentley are known worldwide for their high-quality equipment and highest possible comfort. While it is hard to imagine for owners of normal cars that this luxury can be enhanced, Bentley customers sometimes find room for improvement. The Mulliner equipment for the Continental GT Convertible now combines a number of wishes. From the outside these cars can be recognised by the new double-diamond grille, whose unique grille design is also picked up on by the side air outlets. It was inspired by the double-diamond quilting pattern that the Mulliner customisation department uses on request in the interior, which is available in eight different three-color combinations. In the Continental GT Mulliner Convertible it adorns the seats, door cards and side panels in two stitching colors and, for the first time, the tonneau cover over the recessed fabric soft top. Each double diamond consists of 712 individual stitches. A total of around 400,000 seam stitches create this extraordinary result. It took Bentley around 18 months to create this sewing process. The Mulliner logo is embroidered in the headrests.
The wheel arches are fitted with 22-inch ten-spoke alloy wheels with dark paint and a shiny polished front. The covers of the wheel hubs align themselves independently and thus always show the Bentley logo at the right angle. Inside, the Continental GT Mulliner Convertible features diamond-cut metal trim on the center console and an analogue Breitling clock. Above the glove compartment is the Mulliner logo and a silhouette drawing of the Continental GT Convertible. Ambient lighting adjustable in seven different colors and illuminated door sill panels as well as LED projectors in the exterior mirrors, which project the Bentley logo onto the floor in front of the open door at night, skilfully round off the exclusive ambiente. Standard equipment also includes Naim’s high quality audio system with 18 speakers and two active bass woofers, 2,200 watts, a 20-channel amplifier and eight adjustable DSP sound modes. First-time owners will also receive a car key with a leather cover in an exclusive presentation box, also covered in leather, in the same color chosen for the interior, and two further keys in separate leather-covered boxes with decorative stitching.
Bentley offers the new Continental GT Mulliner Convertible with both the V8 and W12 engines. With the four-liter eight-cylinder engine, thanks to 550 hp, the car accelerates to 62 mph in four seconds and continues on to a topspeed of 198 mph. If four more cylinders are ordered, 635 hp from six liters of displacement provide up to 207 mph topspeed and acceleration from standstill to 62 mph in 3.7 seconds. In addition, customers can choose from 61 paint colors from the Mulliner portfolio, but can also specify their own color. The Bentley Continental GT Mulliner Convertible will make its world premiere at the Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) in early March.
