Aston Martin Vantage AMR
Aston Martin complements the offered Vantage model range with the AMR variant. This is surprisingly not more powerful compared to the well-known normal Vantage. Under the hood remains the V8 biturbo engine from Mercedes-AMG with 375 kW/510 hp. However, the maximum torque was reduced from 685 to 625 newtonmeters, because the Vantage AMR doesn’t get the eight-speed automatic, but a seven-speed manual transmission. Under ideal conditions, this enables the car to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds and, if necessary, further up to a topspeed of 195 mph.
With carbon-ceramic brakes standard, the overall weight has been reduced by 95 kilograms compared to the normal Vantage, maintaining the perfect 50:50 weight distribution. The seven-speed gearbox comes from Graziano and shows a dog-leg shift-pattern. ‘AMSHIFT’ allows automatically generated throttle blips during shifting. A limited-slip differential is used on the rear axle, with fine-tuning by leading vehicle dynamics engineers from Aston Martin, led by Matt Becker.

Only 200 copies of the Aston Martin Vantage AMR will be available from the fourth quarter of 2019. Customers have the choice between five different designer specifications. 59 of these vehicles are reminiscent of the Le Mans victory of the British brand exactly 60 years ago, thanks to their paintwork in ‘Stirling Green’ with ‘Lime’ accents and are called ‘Vantage 59’. Inside, these cars get black leather and Alcantara with stripes and stitching in ‘Lime’.
For the remaining 141 copies of the Vantage AMR, the paint colors ‘White Stone’, ‘China Grey’, ‘Onyx Black’ or ‘Sabiro Blue’ are available. Prices start from £ 149,995 in the UK, 184,995 € in Germany or US$ 179,995, whereby the Vantage AMR Vantage 59 starts at £ 164,995 in the UK, 209,995 € in Germany or US$ 204,995, but is distributed on a ‘first-come-first-serve’ basis. After all Vantage AMR have been delivered, the manual gearbox will be available as an option for the standard Vantage from the beginning of 2020.
