Alpine A110 – News for 2022

Alpine has a number of successes to show for the current year 2021. For the first time, the in-house racing team is competing in the highest category of the World Endurance Championship (WEC) and in Formula 1. Frenchman Esteban Ocon made his mark on the winners’ list with a rather unexpected victory at the Hungarian Grand Prix. With two races still to go in the 2021 F1 Championship, the Alpine team is currently in fifth place. This is an excellent position for the first year of racing. The passenger car department, which has now presented some innovations for 2022, is correspondingly motivated.

Alpine A110

The A110 without appended letter abbreviations will continue to serve as the entry-level version. In the course of the model update for 2022, a new Comfort package moves onto the equipment list. This includes Sabelt comfort seats in black leather, aluminium sport pedals, Focal audio system, front and rear parking assist with rearview camera, and 18-inch alloy wheels. Also optional is a new sports exhaust. For all model variants, Alpine tweaks two of the three driving modes. There is more comfort in “Normal” mode and even more dynamic shifting in “Sport” mode. In addition, one cylinder is now temporarily deactivated when Launch Control is activated to produce a sound typical of racing. For the modified infotainment system with seven-inch touchscreen display, Bluetooth connectivity, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, new content is now available for the life of the car via FOTA technology. This abbreviation stands for “Firmware Over-the-Air”, i.e. the installation of updates via WiFi.

Alpine A110 GT

As a comfort-oriented alternative to the sporty A110 S, Alpine offers the A110 GT. This version can be recognized from the outside by diamond-polished 18-inch wheels and blue brake calipers. 6-way seats with leather upholstery as well as front and rear parking aids including a rearview camera are standard equipment. While a 1.8-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine with 185 kW/252 hp and 320 Nm of torque is at work in the normal A110, the A110 GT and A110 S receive a power upgrade. This is higher than before for the 2022 model year. The data sheet now certifies 221 kW/300 hp (plus 8 hp) and 340 Nm of torque (plus 20 Nm).

Alpine A110 S

An optional aero kit is now available for the sporty A110 S for the first time. This consists of a larger front spoiler lip and a fixed rear wing as well as an extended underbody panel and rear diffuser. At top speed, these add-on parts provide 60 kilograms more downforce on the front axle and 81 kilograms on the rear axle. Matching semi-slick Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires can be ordered on 18-inch alloy wheels in “GT Race” design. A two-tone paint finish in “Fire Orange” and “Deep Black” is also now available. The brake calipers, seat belts and decorative stitching on the microfiber covers of the seats are then also orange.
