Bentley Continental GT Convertible Equestrian
Bentley’s Mulliner customisation department has barely been reorganised and divided into three core areas, and these areas are already being filled with life. Last week we reported on the Bacalar, limited to 12 units, which is the debut project of the ‘Coachbuilt’ division. While the ‘Classic’ division is working on a new edition of the classic Bentley Blower, the first new special edition model from the ‘Collections’ section is now also coming to light. The employees of this department deal with Bentley’s normal models, work on special customer requests and also develop special editions – such as the unique Continental GT Convertible Equestrian Edition. This is aimed especially at horse racing lovers.
It is inspired by the biggest horse racing event in the world, ‘The Cheltenham Festival’. Bentley Bristol ordered the Equestrian Edition as an exclusive one-off from Mulliner Collections. After completion the car was photographed at Jackdaws Castle, some 10 miles from the Cheltenham race course. Some of the best race horses of the Jonjo O’Neill Racing team are trained here. This classic building is a perfect match for the specially created green paint color called ‘Spruce’ which, together with the Blackline Specification and black painted 22-inch wheels adorns the exterior.

Inside the Bentley Continental GT Convertible in the Equestrian Edition features saddle brown leather on the seats, steering wheel spokes, the inner rim of the steering wheel and parts of the center tunnel, the door cards and the side panels. The diamond stitching on the seat sides shows seams in two colors. The cover of the central compartment on the center tunnel, the steering wheel outer rim, the top of the dashboard and the lid of the glove compartment are finished in Cumbrian Green leather. A silhouette of horse and rider at a gallop are stitched into the headrests. The same motif also adorns the inlaid wood décor on the dashboard. New is the tweed fabric used for the door and side panels in the style of the diamond quilting with light blue yarn.
The one-off model has been fitted with a comprehensive equipment. Touring Specification (Lane assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Bentley Safeguard Plus, Night vision and Head-up display) and City Specification (Top View Camera, Traffic sign recognition, City Assist, Pedestrian warning, Reversing traffic warning, automatic dimming mirrors and hands-free boot opening) are on board. After this year’s The Cheltenham Festival the car could be for sale at Bentley Bristol.
