TLCC Aston Martin DB5 Junior NTTD Edition

When you were a kid, did you sometimes dream of feeling like a movie hero? If you were a car enthusiast as well, you probably even imagined driving famous movie cars yourself. But there wasn’t much left for many of us to do beyond pushing a toy car on the carpet. The Little Car Company (TLCC) from the UK now offers a huge step beyond that. As a beautiful miniature in 66 percent size, the Aston Martin DB5 is now being created there as a Junior version for self-driving. From the original car, which has been extensively scanned in three dimensions, the miniature not only has the shapes, but also the “Silver Birch” paintwork and appropriately designed round instruments from Smiths. Inspired by the latest “James Bond 007” movie “No Time to Die”, the open-top children’s car also features various Q gadgets. These were created in collaboration with the film production company EON Productions.

While the batteries can be charged via the fuel filler flap, the oil thermometer now displays the engine temperature. Different driving modes allow for different top speeds. The range is up to 80 miles. There is enough room on the bench seat to accomodate a child and an adult at the same time. This way, a parent can accompany the child on first rides and quickly intervene if needed. To make it easier to get in, the steering wheel can be removed by means of a quick-release fastener. The braking system is from Brembo, the suspension from Bilstein. A hidden flap in the passenger door conceals the control buttons for the Q gadgets. This allows the headlights to fold away, revealing implied Gatling machine guns. The digital license plates also change at the touch of a button. A supply tank for the smoke projector is located in the rear.

Two club memberships included

In working out the Q gadgets, The Little Car Company collaborated with Chris Corbould OBE. Corbould has won Academy Awards® for his special effects work and has been involved in 15 Bond films since the early 1980s. “When I saw the DB5 Junior in the flesh, I was amazed at how identical it is to the full-sized car – its stunning. It’s an amazing feat of engineering.” Each of the 125 customers automatically becomes a member of the Aston Martin Owners Club and The Little Car Club. The base price per unit is £ 90,000 plus tax and delivery.
