Timeless Masterpieces in MEF

Next to the famous Museo Ferrari in Maranello, there is another remarkable museum in Italy on the same theme, which is affiliated with the birthplace of company founder Enzo Ferrari at the Via Paolo Ferrari in Modena. In the MEF (Museo Enzo Ferrari), however, the focus is always more on thematic special exhibitions. The latest one is titled ‘Capolavori senza tempo – Timeless Masterpieces’.

While selecting the shown vehicles, the curators focused mainly on GTs and roadlegal sports cars from the rich Ferrari history. These played the most sustainable role in the development of the company’s design language, while racing cars often were designed to clear rules and regulations. Right at the beginning of the special exhibition a 166 Inter from 1948 and a 750 Monza from 1954 are shown. A little further ahead are the 250 GT California Spyder and a 250 GTO, two of the most valuable cars in the world.

Only insignificantly cheaper are the other classic cars like a 365 GTS/4 ‘Daytona’ Spider, a 250 GT/L Lusso or a 275 GTB. But even more modern models such as a 456 GT, a 575M Maranello, a 575 Superamerica, a FF, a 612 Scaglietti OtO or a California are shown. The limited edition SP1 Monza allows a look into the current model range. In addition to the vehicles, the MEF shows specific other iconic products from the respective decades, which have achieved cult status in their sectors. These include architectural models, electronic models or even furniture as well as memorabilia from music and film. There are always unexpected connections between those objects and the cars, which are likely to surprise the visitors.

The Museo Enzo Ferrari opens every day from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm. Visitors can either buy a single ticket or purchase a combination ticket for both Ferrari museums.
