Riva 32 Ferrari

Fast boats and sports cars belong together in a certain way. Often, owners of a car collection also have at least one beautiful boat lying in some harbour. For this reason, there are always collaborations between boat builders and car brands. One of these led to the limited edition Riva 32 Ferrari in 1990. Only 40 copies of this 32-foot (about 10-meter) yacht were built. On the upper deck, it offers space for at least four passengers in addition to the driver. They sit on leather-covered seats. The white and black leather is interspersed with red decorative and quilted seams. Below deck there is a berth for two persons and a room for storing clothes and luggage. From the outside, the Riva 32 Ferrari appears in the typical red of Italian sports cars. Some design elements are reminiscent of the Testarossa.

Two BPM Volcano V8 engines work in the rear. These each produce 390 hp from eight liters of displacement. Riva gave a topspeed of 54 knots, which corresponds to 62 mph on land. This means that the 32 Ferrari is still one of the fast yachts today. RM Sotheby’s is offering number 28 of 40 on Saturday in Fort Lauderdale. This boar received a major service in 2015 where both engines were removed and overhauled. The repair costs amounted to over US$ 100,000. Now the yacht from “The Rey Collection” could soon belong to a new owner. The experts at RM Sotheby’s expect a hammer price of between US$ 100,000 and US$ 150,000.
