Holy Halls
Mercedes-Benz hoards its in-house classic car collection in a total of 12 halls in secret locations. Insights are rare. Visitors are not allowed. It can therefore be seen as a revolution that Christof Vieweg was allowed in, was able to bring a photographer with him and was even allowed to pick out special exhibits and examine them more closely. The result is the book “Holy Halls”. On 244 pages, there are overview pictures from the halls mixed with individual stories. These are sorted by decades.

In the early periods up to the era after World War 2, the author presents very special vehicles that have made history. These include both production cars as well as racing cars such as the first ever Silver Arrow. Unfortunately, this stops at the most recent vehicles, where the reader is left wondering whether this is the first or last car built, or what other reason there was for including it in the collection. Fans of the brand and admirers of extensive factory car collections will nevertheless get their money’s worth. The ISBN is 978-3-667-11667-3. Delius Klasing offers it for 59 €.
