Ducati MIG-RR

More and more companies are trying to settle in the field of electromobility as a newcomer or as an additional target. Next to automotive brands, this trend is also affecting motorcycle manufacturers, as Ducati now proves. So far, the Italian brand was only known for sporty motorbikes and matching clothing. At the EICMA, however, a completely new product was presented in November 2018. It only shared the number of wheels with former products. Together with Thok Ebikes, Ducati developed a mountain bike with electric assistance. The model name is ‘MIG-RR’. Unlike motorcycles, this bike can not only be bought at Ducati dealers in Europe, but also be ordered online via the Ducati website.

The Ducati MIG-RR is equipped with full suspension with 170 millimeters front travel and 160 millimeters at the rear, as well as suspension components from FOX Factory Kashima. As an additional drive next to the pedals and the 11-speed gearshift, a 250-watt and 70 newtonmeters strong electric motor of the type Shimano Steps E8000 is used, which offers the three modes ‘Eco’, ‘Trail’ and ‘Boost’. A Shimano battery with 504 Wh capacity hangs on the diagonal rail of the frame. The four-piston brake system also comes from Shimano, while the carbon handlebar is from Rhental. Aldo Drudi worked with the Ducati Style Center team to color the aluminium frame, which is available in four different sizes.

Orders for the MIG-RR will be accepted from now on. First deliveries are scheduled for April. The base price is 6,250 euros.
