Cars – Driven by Design

Normally art collections and art museums only show art in every possible form. If those are paintings, drawings, sketches or sculptures isn’t important to them. But there are more interesting ways of design and styling, often left aside by curators. So it is a very special occassion to see the special exhibition ‘Cars – Driven by Design’ now in 2018 at the Museum Kunstpalast Düsseldorf – for the first time in Germany. It will start in September.

Curators for this special exhibition are Barbara Til and Dieter Castenow. Both announced a collection of around 30 sports cars from the 1950s to 1970s, including iconic cars like the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL, BMW 507, Lamborghini Miura and Jaguar E-Type. But also rarities like an Alfa Romeo Giulietta SS or a Lancia Stratos will be included, as are concept cars like Mercedes-Benz C111-II or BMW Turbo. The exhibition starts at 27th September 2018 and is visible until the 24th February 2019.
