Bugatti Chiron Sport 110 ans
In 1909, the company Bugatti was founded by Ettore Bugatti in Molsheim/France. Until World War 2, he produced fantastic sports and luxury cars, which today achieve high prices among car collectors. After the war, from which Ettore returned ill, the brand tried to build on old successes. However, the boss died in 1947 and his son Roland didn’t have the technical skills and financial abilities to run the company. After closing it, about 40 years of silence followed, before Italian entrepreneur Romano Artioli bought the rights to use the name and brand. He set up a new car factory in Campogalliano near Modena, where the EB110 supercar and a few copies of the luxury sedan EB112 were produced, before in 1995 they had to declare bankruptcy. Since 1998 the Volkswagen Group owns the trademark rights and builts supercars in a new facility near Ettore Bugatti’s villa in Molsheim since 2005.
Currently, Bugatti offers the Chiron, the Chiron Sport and the strictly limited Divo, the latter already sold out. On the basis of the somewhat weight-reduced Chiron Sport, which celebrated its world premiere at the Geneva Motorshow last year, a special edition model for the brand anniversary is now being launched, limited to just 20 copies worldwide. The Chiron Sport 110 ans Bugatti can be seen from the outside in the newly developed matt carbon fiber ‘Steel Blue Carbon’ in combination with aluminium elements such as the characteristic C line around the passenger compartment and the horseshoe-shaped grille, each also painted in matt ‘Steel Blue’. On the wing mirrors is the French flag, which is painted on mirror-inverted on the passenger side. This quotes the standards on French state cars, where the blue stripe always points forward and is thus seen first. The meaning behind it lies in the symbolism of the three colors on the flag: Liberté (freedom, blue), Egalité (equality, white) and Fraternité (brotherhood, red). The Tricolore ‘Le Bleu-Blanc-Rouge’ can also be find on the underside of the rear wing.

Blue painted brake calipers shine through the matt black painted alloy wheels. A special detail are the fuel filler caps behind the side windows. They are available in hand polished aluminium or painted in blue or white and feature the specially designed, milled ‘110 ans Bugatti’ logo with a vertical French flag. Diffuser and rear bumper are made from glossy ‘Steel Blue Carbon’, while the tailpipes of the exhaust system, the mechanics of the rear wing and the EB logo are black anodized. Above the passengers’ heads is the normally optional Sky View glass roof.
Inside the ‘110 ans Bugatti’ logo is embroidered into the headrests. From just above the logo down to the seat runs the French tricolore as a narrow stripe. The zero mark on the steering wheel also shows the French colors, while the rest of the steering wheel wears matt carbon and dark blue leather. The steering column cover, dashboard surround and seat trim also show carbon, while the door cards, dashboard, middle tunnel and back panel are trimmed in dark blue leather. Light blue leather and dark blue Alcantara are used for the seats. In the center console is a specially made medal of solid, cast silver with enamel laid on a carbon plate.
