BMW M4 Edition M Heritage

Exclusive special edition models have a long tradition at BMW M GmbH. Last weekend, the Edition M Heritage based on the BMW M4 Coupé made its debut at the DTM races at the Nürburgring. On the drive side, the three-liter six-cylinder biturbo engine with 331 kW/450 hp and 550 newtonmeters of torque from the M4 Competition remains. With the six-speed manual transmission fitted as standard, the car speeds up to 100 kph (62 mph) in 4.2 seconds, while the optional seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox allows it to accelerate two tenths of a second faster. The topspeed is electronically limited to 250 kph (155 mph) or 280 kph (174 mph) with the optional M Driver’s Package.

From the outside, the M Heritage Edition vehicles feature the typical colors of the M GmbH logo, i.e. light blue, dark blue or red. Strictly speaking, these are the exclusive paint finishes ‘Laguna Seca Blue’, ‘Velvet Blue metallic’ or ‘Imola Red’. On the visible carbon roof, the famous M stripes can be found as a special inlay on the carbon fibers. In the wheel arches there is a 20-inch set of forged wheels in star-spoke design and painted in the color ‘Orbit Grey matt’.

Inside, BMW matches the vehicles of the Edition M Heritage to the chosen exterior paintwork. At the front, sports seats with side openings in the backrest area are used. In ‘Laguna Seca Blue’ vehicles, the seats are covered in ‘Silverstone’ and ‘Black’ leather with turquoise stitching. A slightly different leather color distribution combined with decorative stitching in orange and velvet blue can be found inside the dark blue vehicles, while red and black leather with red and yellow stitching is used in ‘Imola Red’ cars. The embroidered reference to the Edition M Heritage can be seen on the headrests.

The carbon trims take up the colors of the M GmbH again in the fibers and carry the inscription ‘Edition M Heritage’ above the glovebox as well as on the door sill plates. Also the note ‘1/750’ gives an indication of only 750 units worldwide. BMW hasn’t yet provided any information on the basic price of this special edition.
