Ares Design Project GTO

In recent years Dany Bahar was head of the British sports car brand Lotus. After some expensive plans and projects they parted in 2013. Since 2014, Bahar manages the coachbuilder Ares Design in Modena/Italy. There, in low-volume production, some rebuilds of modern sports cars in classic design are created. So there were already designs for a new De Tomaso Pantera based on a Lamborghini Huracan, a modern Ferrari 412 (we reported) or refinements for the Land Rover Defender. The latest project is based on the Ferrari 812 Superfast and inspired by the legendary 250 GTO.

The car is still in its project phase, which is why only a few computer images and some sketches exist. Ares Design deliberately plans to tailor the conversions also for the predecessor model F12berlinetta. According to Dany Bahar, a first customer is already working with the coachbuilders to finalize the design. Prices should start at just under one millione euros including the donor car. Special customer requests for paint colors, interior materials and equipment can drive this value up. Less than ten copies of the Project GTO will be made.
