How<\/span> do<\/span> you<\/span> continue<\/span> a<\/span> family<\/span> history<\/span> without<\/span> setting<\/span> it<\/span> in<\/span> stone<\/span>? The<\/span> Ebert<\/span> family<\/span> grappled<\/span> with<\/span> this<\/span> question<\/span> in<\/span> 2022<\/span>. Four<\/span> years<\/span> on<\/span>, the<\/span> answer<\/span> stands<\/span> at<\/span> 1,130<\/span> metres<\/span>: six<\/span> new<\/span> Anger<\/span> Suites<\/span> that<\/span> build<\/span> on<\/span> the<\/span> rich<\/span> history<\/span> of<\/span> the<\/span> Schlossanger<\/span> Alp<\/span> whilst<\/span> also<\/span> creating<\/span> new<\/span> spaces<\/span> for<\/span> the<\/span> future<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n

The Schlossanger Alp, situated above Pfronten, has belonged to the Schlachter-Ebert family since 1913. Five generations later, a new chapter is beginning. Since August 2026, the six Anger Suites have stood alongside the main building. Four years of planning went into the new development. That gave plenty of time to consider what a new addition might look like when a place already has its own character.<\/p>\n\n

The answer is delightfully obvious: wood, glass and stone. Three gables echo the shape of the original house. The fa\u00e7ade is understated; behind it, the forest begins. And then there are these windows. Floor-to-ceiling. Facing south-east. With views across the Allg\u00e4u mountains as far as the Zugspitze.<\/p>\n\n

The six suites range in size from 45 to 96 square metres. Inside, dark herringbone flooring, bespoke fittings and natural materials create an atmosphere that is more reminiscent of a beautifully designed private home than a traditional hotel room.<\/p>\n\n

This is also down to the details: the benches right by the window, a freestanding bath, and, last but not least, the fireplaces that provide warmth in three of the suites. In the Schlossanger Suite, one hangs freely in front of the large window front. A fire against a backdrop of mountains. That\u2019s really all you need.<\/p>\n\n
