This is a historic moment for automotive and art enthusiasts: For the first time ever, all 20 BMW Art Cars are on display together in one place. From July 29 to August 31, 2026, BMW Welt in Munich will showcase the complete collection under the title \u201cBMW ART CARS \u2013 20 ARTISTS, 50 YEARS OF INNOVATION. REUNITED AT BMW WELT,\u201d highlighting one of the most extraordinary stories at the intersection of art, design, and motorsports.<\/p>\n\n

Five decades of the BMW Art Car Collection in a single exhibition: What began in 1975 as an unusual experiment is now one of the world\u2019s most significant collections of automotive art. The idea was conceived by French race car driver and art auctioneer Herv\u00e9 Poulain and Jochen Neerpasch, then head of BMW\u2019s motorsports division. At that time, artist Alexander Calder transformed a BMW 3.0 CSL into a \u201crolling sculpture\u201d that competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.<\/p>\n\n
