Like historic Bugatti models, the tourbillon is intended to be timeless and incomparable, inspired by icons such as the Type 57SC Atlantic and the Type 35. After more than 20 years, the W16 engine is no longer used. Instead, the cylinders are arranged in a V and are supported by three electric motors. The result: a total output of 1800PS. Definitely not comparable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bugatti Tourbillon is based on a fully analogue instrument cluster that was developed in collaboration with Swiss watchmakers. The skeletonised instrument consists of over 600 parts and weighs just 700 grams. The centre console combines crystal glass and aluminium to make the operation of the switches and start lever visible. Electric hinged doors and a hidden, high-resolution digital screen are further innovative elements of the interior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Tourbillon is powered by a new V16 naturally aspirated engine with a displacement of 8.3 litres and an electric drivetrain with three electric motors, which together deliver 1,800 hp. The V16 engine delivers 1,000 hp, while the electric motors contribute 800 hp. An 800-volt battery with 25 kWh should even enable a purely electric range of more than 60 kilometres. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aerodynamics, including an innovative rear diffuser and a retractable rear wing, have been optimised so that top speeds in excess of 400 km\/h should be possible. To be precise, Bugatti specifies 445 km\/h for the V-Max. It goes from 0 to 100 km\/h in 2.0 seconds, the 400 km\/h are on the speedometer in less than 23 more seconds. The new chassis and body structure consists of T800 carbon fibre composite, aluminium frame and 3D-printed structural struts, resulting in a lighter and stiffer body. The new chassis includes a forged aluminium multi-link suspension that is 45 percent lighter than that of the Chiron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
